2. OSCR is a Non-Ministerial Department. It is directly accountable to the Scottish Parliament.

3. The responsibilities of the OSCR are comparable to those of the Charity Commission, as it examines any misconduct within charities. It also holds similar authority over trustees and has the capability to remove a charity from the register if deemed necessary.
